Extra safety precautions
With confirmed cases of COVID-19 increasing in our service territory, it is imperative we implement extra safety precautions to better protect you, our employees, and the communities we serve. By incorporating these precautions, we can continue serving our members and provide the reliable service you count on.

Starting June 1, the Spearfish and Newell Offices are open to the public resuming normal business hours. When paying your bill in person, please practice social distancing and remain 6 feet away from others.

Employees are allowed to telework when possible

Lineman are operating out of individual vehicles and have limited contact with our members

Supporting our Members
To support members experiencing financial stress and difficulty during the COVID-19 outbreak, Butte Electric Cooperative will be waiving fees and penalties for late payments and reconnects. Butte Electric Cooperative will also work with providing a payment plan for members in need. We encourage any customer who facing financial difficulties or hardship due to COVID-19 to call us at 605-456-2494, 605-269-0680, or 1-800-928-8839.
Energy assistance programs are also available to assist individuals and small businesses with heating bills.
Be aware of utility scams. During times such as these, scammers threaten to disconnect service and demand immediate payment over the phone. Butte Electric will contact customers first by mail regarding payment matters and will never demand instant payment by phone.
